The Flame Out Candle (FOC)
The Flame Out Candle (FOC) looks, feels, and smells like the real wax candles you’ve grown to love. The FOC has special design features never before available in any candle. We have invented a device that inserts into the bottom of the candle called the “Puck”. The Puck holds the wick, and pulls it down below the hot wax pool extinguishing the flame, and then returns the wick to the ready position for its next use. The Puck is designed with several special features to extinguish the flame. It has timer settings for 1, 2, 3, or 4 hours, a tilt sensor in the case it is knocked over, and a voice command “Flame Out Candle” extinguishing the flame from up to 20 feet away.
After the wax candle body is used up, the consumer can by any color or scent refill, and place it on the reusable Puck.

The PUCK
The Puck offers features never before available in any candle. The Puck is designed with special features to extinguish the flame, including, a voice command of “Flame Out Candle” from up to 20 feet away, or by a pre set timer of 1, 2, 3, or 4 hours, or by a tilt sensor if the candle is knocked over. After the initial purchase of the FOC package, the Puck is reusable in any wax candle body refill.
Wax Candle Body Refills
After the wax candle body is completely used, you can purchase a refill wax body, in a variety of colors and fragrances, and place the refill on the reusable puck.
Replaceable Wick
The wick is designed to move up and down in the wax candle body, allowing the user to remove the factory wick if desired, and replace it with a new wick that burns in a variety of colors to choose from. This is new technology, never before available in the candle industry. Now you can choose your flame color.
The Flame Out Candle Story
It was a cold and rainy night in December of 2021. John Riga, co-founder and CEO of Aexion Inc returned home from the office to find his girlfriend Diane (now fiance), had lit almost one hundred candles placed throughout the house. She had prepared a luxurious meal, and had a romantic evening planned. After a fabulous dinner and thoroughly enjoyable evening, they retired to bed. At approximately 2:00am John went to the kitchen to fetch a drink of water, only to find the dining table on fire. He woke Diane, they extinguished the flame and aired out the house, and thanked God he needed that drink of water, which was usually at bed side. If John didn’t get up when he did, the result would have been a full blown house fire, with a potentially unthinkable outcome.
This “almost catastrophe”, and the fact both John and Diane love having real candles, caused John to start researching self extinguishing candles. After months of research, John only found unattractive, bulky, and expensive devices that took away from the overall experience of having a real wax candle, with a real flame and real fragrance. This is when the light turned on in John’s head, and the Flame Out Candle (FOC) was born.
He shared his idea with Aexion’s co-founder and CTO, Ron Hermann. At first Ron didn’t warm up to the idea of a self extinguishing candle. But after months of market research and collecting data on fires and deaths caused by the common candle, Ron was 100% on board. They went to work in their garage and developed the first working prototypes in 2022. They shared their new fangled invention with family, friends, and business associates. The response was nothing short of incredible, with virtually everyone who saw it, or even hearing about it, wanting to place an order. Fast forward to 2024, final prototypes have been approved, ASTM certifications are being planned, mass scale manufacturing is being contracted, and our first 50 thousand units are expected to be ready for retail sale by Q4, 2024.
With the candle market growing year over year, this is truly an exciting time to be involved in the candle industry, and the Flame Out Candle is going to be a game changer.
